  1. Quit Smoking
  2. Quit Drinking Alcohol
  3. Quit Recreational Drugs
  4. Quit Consuming Large Amounts of Caffeine
  5. Reduce Stress
  6. Do not use lubricants during intercourse except for Preseed .  Many lubricants can be just as harmful to sperm as a spermicide.
  7. Drink plenty of water and juice – Drinking plenty of liquids is very important for the man and the woman.  It helps to clear out toxins and keep the body well hydrated.  Some theories claim that when women drink more water that the fallopian tubes will become more flexible and open.
  8. Eat a well balanced diet – This is very important so that you get all of the nutrients that are needed to get pregnant and maintain a healthy pregnancy.  Sometimes infertility is caused by a lack of a particular vitamin or trace mineral.  Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  9. Maintain a healthy weight – When a woman is too heavy or too thin it can interfere with ovulation and therefore with conception.
  10. Be certain to have sex the two days before ovulation occurs.  Sperm needs to be waiting for the egg when it is released to increase chances of conception.  Sperm can live for about 24 to 72 hours in the female reproductive tract, but an egg only lives for about 8 to 24 hours.
  11. Use caution while taking painkillers as they can interfere with the Lutenizing Hormone causing a reduced chance of conception.  This includes opiates and anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen.
  12. Get to know the pattern of your monthly cycle – It is important to know when ovulation is going to happen so that you can have sex at the right time during the month.  Once you start to chart your cycles, it will only take a month or two for you to get to know how your body works.
  13. Don’t douche – With today’s society we are very obsessed with being clean.  There is nothing wrong with this but douching is really not necessary and it actually interferes with the body’s own cleansing system that it goes through.  Douching can cause infections and can cause an upset in the natural balance and lubrication of the reproductive system.
  14. Have sex at least two times a week.  Theory has it that regular sex normalizes cycles and ovulation.  It will also insure a frequent fresh supply of sperm for when the egg is released.
  15. While the woman is most fertile, sex should be had in the missionary position (with the man on top).  This brings the head of the penis closer to the cervix so that the sperm will be deposited closer to the egg’s location.  After having intercourse the woman should try propping her hips up under a pillow for about 15 minutes.
  16. Get regular check ups at the doctors.  Get checked for all STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).  Some STD’s can be carried and not show any symptoms but still cause infertility.
